Seth,
First off I love your movies! Probably because I am an active marijuana smoker and medical marijuana patient. Honostly your movies remind me of my last 6 years, smoking good pot and always going on an adventure around Seattle. Recently I saw the flick 50/50 and to tell you the truth it hit extremely close to home. I hurt my back when I was 18 (22 now) and over the last 4 years my back has gotten progressively worse while I was working full time.. About 6 months ago I started having severe nerve pain in my legs and my feet. The pain got so bad I had to quit my job in November and start on the tedious task of doctor appts. After a new MRI… it showed that I have degenerative disc disease affecting my bottom 6 disks, but even worse a tumor on my spinal cord. So not only do I live in Seattle, I’m a med mj patient, and I have a rare spinal cord tumor. After seeing 6 doctors, 3 of which surgeons I have found my options to be very grim. This tumor is pinching nerves that effect my whole lower body with severe pain and numbness in addition to the 6 herniated disks. You can imagin OUCH!!! I can’t really do the awesome fun things I used to & it blows!! So far I have gotten all the tests done except for a cancer check. You can imagin after seeing your movie for the first time last week it really freaked me out at how this movie was playing out so close to my condition. 2 days ago I saw a neurosurgeon who told me that I have 2 options: a very risky surgery that would remove 3 vertebrates that could not be replaced. Hense it make my disks deteriorate much faster, not to mention that his neurosurgeon would send me to a different surgeon as the surgery is too much of a liability. And option # 2…. leave it how it is forever & continue suffering. As of now I am choosing option # 2 because I am NOT gung-hoe about taking surgery risks that could make me “Limpy Longstocking” if u know what I mean(loss of sexual function) or the possibility of being the 22 year old “disabled diaper dude”( bowel incontinence.) Well I know I got a long road ahead, but I just really wanted to express the similarity to “50/50″ & to day that you are hilarious! Well if you are ever in the Seattle,WA area & you want to ” Roast one” know that I would gladly host you for a little cannabis conessuering. And if your ever looking to fill a big screen roll, keep me in mind. Not being able to work & all these Dr. Appts are brutal on the finances. I have the work ethic to work my whole life, but my unforunate situation has taken away my ability to work in most career fields. I know it’s far-fettched, but it never hurts to ask a favor.
