The full length video of Fight For Your Right (Revisited) has made it’s way online – take a look below at the short film based on Beastie Boys! “Fight For Your Right (Revisited)” was written and directed by Adam Yauch aka MCA of the Beastie Boys. Take a look below:
Seth Rogen, star of such comedies as Knocked Up and Pineapple Express talked to CNN on Tuesday about a very serious issue: Alzheimer’s disease. Rogen, who called the disease “brutal,” said his fiancee’s mother has been battling it for years. He talked about the emotional toll it takes on families.
“I think until you see it firsthand, it’s kind of hard to conceive of how brutal it is,” Rogen told CNN on Tuesday. “Until I saw it, you just don’t get kind of how heartbreaking it can be. I just try to be as around as possible, as emotionally available as possible.”
If you can’t wait until midnight to flip on MTV2/mtvU/VH1 Classic and watch Fight For Your Right Revisited — a star-stuffed short film by the Beastie Boys that debuted earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival — it’s time to get ill right now.
MTV has just posted a five-minute-plus video for “Make Some Noise,” which is the first single from the Beasties’ new album Hot Sauce Committee, Part 2, and part of the 22-minute film. The action picks up where the video for 1986’s “(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (to Party!)” left off, and boasts lots of shattering glass and celebrities ranging from Elijah Wood to Seth Rogen to Danny McBride to Chloe Sevigny to… well, you’ll see when you press play. And brace yourself for a creepy cowbell performance by Will Ferrell.
Couldn’t make it to this year’s Sundance Film Festival? Worry not: A teaser for one of the best short films that premiered there, the Beastie Boys’ Fight For Your Right Revisited, just dropped online, and Will Ferrell, Jack Black, Seth Rogen, Danny McBride, John C. Reilly, and Elijah Wood play the Boys and battle in “super fresh old school throw down dance contest from the future!,” as Ferrell puts it.
The 30-minute film, which doubles as a music video for the Boys’ new Hot Sauce Committee Part Two (out May 3) track “Make Some Noise,” is a spin-off of the Boys’ original “Fight For Your Right” video from 1987 and is based on the tagline, “After the boys leave the party…” In the trailer the all-star cast play two different versions of the Boys, young and old, with Wood and Ferrell playing Ad-Rock, McBride and Reilly as MCA, and Rogen and Black as Mike D.
So what, exactly, happens “After the boys leave the party…”? Well, they bust moves on the streets of their native New York, break a few windows, brawl in a restaurant, and throw beer at a businessman. Method acting at its finest! Susan Sarandon, Stanley Tucci, Ted Danson, and Will Arnett also appear in the clip, directed by Adam Yauch, aka MCA.
No word yet on the release date for Fight For Your Right Revisited, but a Los Angeles screening is set for April 29. The film also features cameos from Orlando Bloom, Kirsten Dunst, David Cross, Amy Poehler, Jason Schwartzman, Adam Scott, Rainn Wilson, Steve Buscemi, Chloö Sevigny, Alicia Silverstone, Martin Starr, Rashida Jones, and R.E.M.’s Mike Mills.
