Budgeted at $27 million, “Pineapple Express” went on to make $87 million at the box office, now it sounds like fans can possibly look forward to a sequel. Evan Goldberg, Seth’s writing partner, sounds off on his thoughts belows:
“Pineapple 2″ is something that we pressured the studio to do for a while, and they require no pressure. Everybody wants to do it, it’s just we all have the chance after the success of those movies to do whatever they want, and everybody took that chance, and they made ‘Your Highness’ and Judd went and made ["Funny People"] and we went and made stuff. I would not be surprised if we all got back and made ‘Pineapple 2.’
We have the whole story planned out. But I don’t know, it’s still a toss up. Because that movie I’m very proud of, I don’t want to tamper with it. It kind of begs a sequel, but I don’t know. ‘Pineapple ’2 is the most likely [Judd Apatow-produced project] with us all. We kind of made the classic mistake of people who had a successful film: we then booked everything we could because we thought it’d be our only chance. It still could be our only chance, but man are we booked.”
Evan Goldberg, the writing partner of Superbad actor Seth Rogen, has revealed that the team behind Superbad and Pineapple Express are set for a host of new projects. According to the writer, new films include a “top secret super project” called Sausage Party.
“I can tell you no more….but it involves Seth [Rogen] and Jonah [Hill] who star, and Conrad Vernon (voice actor from Monsters Vs. Aliens and Shrek Forever After) and Mark Osborne (director of Kung Fu Panda) are involved,” Goldberg told The Playlist.
He added: “We’ve written that, we’ve finished and are going out to studios with now. We’re very passionate about it. Sausage Party is very special to us.”
Goldberg also explained Rogen is also hoping to get his 2007 short film, Jay And Seth vs The Apocalypse, made into a feature film, starring The Sorcerer’s Apprentice’s Jay Baruchel. (Source)
Seth Rogen has told MTV that he and collaborator Evan Goldberg might direct their next comedy, “Jay and Seth vs. The Apocalypse”, based on a trailer they created with Jay Baruchel. The concept is clever: After the world ends the only two surivors are Jay and Seth…but they really don’t like each other all that much. Simple, but plenty of room there for stuff to happen.
“It takes years to write a goods movie, that’s what we’ve learned,” Rogen said of building the post-apocalyptic comedy. “We’re finally going to script form. Once you’re there, you’re kind of on the home stretch. It means you have the key ideas to build the movie,” he added. “I think me and Evan might direct it, which might be a big step for us.”
Seth attended the, “Paul” panel at the 2010 San Diego Comic Con. For those unfamiliar with “Paul,” it is a movie about two British comic-book geeks traveling across the U.S. encounter an alien outside Area 51 – Seth is the voice of the alien (Paul). I want to give a HUGE thank you to my friend, Jess at www.isabel-lucas.net for providing these pictures for me. Head over to the gallery for the latest additions.

Rogen attended the Toronto production of Rock of Ages on July 17, telling people that “he was just there to enjoy the show.” Accorinf to the report, however, Rogan may have been taking in the production for more professional reasons. Seth Rogen “couldn’t believe” he got to star in a movie with Cameron Diaz. The Hollywood funnyman admits he was shocked when the sexy actress agreed to join the cast of The Green Hornet.
“We couldn’t believe we got her to be in the movie,” says Seth. “It was a real pleasure every day but it was surreal. It’s one of those things that’s crazy, too … ‘I’m talking to Cameron Diaz right now!’
“I was really in awe of her but she’s a true delight to work with. She’s really funny. She’s just great.”
I’ve added pictures of Seth from the “The Green Hornet” Press Conference held June 28th at The Ritz-Carlton in Cancun, Mexico. Head over to the gallery for the latest additions.
