No Prenup For Seth and Lauren
Written by on January 8th, 2011

When Seth Rogen ties the knot with fiance Lauren Miller no prenup will be in play. He has stated that he does not intend on making his fiance sign a prenuptual agreement, a true sign of his love for her. Lauren and The Green Hornet star will tie the knot later this year.

During a recent interview on the Howard Stern radio show Seth said:

“I’m not. My business manager told me to get one.” Stern then reminded Rogen of how much ‘Frasier’ star Kelsey Grammer will be paying for his divorce, but Rogen stuck to his guns. ” Marriage can be expensive and if I lose millions then it’ll be the best millions I’ve spent.”

“The Green Hornet is Kind of a Douchebag”
Written by on December 28th, 2010

Seth Rogen has branded his character in The Green Hornet as “a douchebag”. The Pineapple Express star plays debonair newspaper publisher Brett Reid in the forthcoming action movie, a character that he describes as possessing less than admirable qualities throughout his transformation into the titular superhero.

He told Virgin Media: “No, he’s not a hero in any way that you would expect him to be a hero, in any way, shape or form. He’s really not that awesome when you meet him, I have to say. He’s kind of a douchebag. A somewhat entertaining douchebag, but a douchebag all the same.”

Rogen, who also wrote the movie’s script along with Superbad colleague Evan Goldberg, revealed that he made sure Reid’s sidekick Kato received more credit for the hero’s crime-fighting success in the new adaptation.

“There are two guys out there, risking their lives, getting shot at – and one of them is the sidekick? Let’s be clear about this, Batman and Robin do exactly the same thing. In our approach, the relationship is the superpower. Alone these guys are kind of nothing, but together they’re able to accomplish things that no mere mortal ever could.”

The Green Hornet is due for release in the UK and the US on January 14, 2011. (Source)

Seth Talks About His “Green Hornet” Co-Stars
Written by on December 25th, 2010

Even though Seth Rogen plays the title character in The Green Hornet, the recent focus of Columbia Pictures’ promotional campaign for the movie has been on the Green Hornet’s sidekick, Kato (Jay Chou). Even Cameron Diaz, who plays Lenore Case, a hip, savvy assistant to the crimefighting duo, has gotten a fair share of the spotlight recently. But, it doesn’t seem to bother Rogen that he’s playing second fiddle to his co-stars. In fact, in a recent interview with ET, Rogen heaped praise on Chou and Diaz.

Rogen said that when it came to casting Kato, he knew right away that Chou was the man for the job…and that there was no way his Kato would be taking orders from Rogen’s Green Hornet.

As soon as we saw him, we were like, “This guy is really cool. He kind of seems like a pop star, you know? He’s really charismatic, he’s handsome, he has the cool hair, and he just seemed like the last guy who should be subservient to me.

Rogen said that Diaz brought a lot to the character of Case and that she was a lot of fun to work with.

[Cameron is] always looking for new little ways to do [a scene], and funny little things to do, and she really enjoys that. It’s just always nice when you work with somebody who’s really into it and really loves it and enjoys it, you know?

Rogen, who co-wrote The Green Hornet with his friend and frequent collaborator, Evan Goldberg, said that his intention with The Green Hornet is to “wow” the audience by offering up something different.

You have to show people something they’ve never seen before. I mean, that’s what I like when I go see an action movie. I come away with those moments where you’re just like, “Wow, I’ve never quite seen that before.”

The Green Hornet was directed by Michel Gondry. Edward Furlong, Edward James Olmos, Tom Wilkinson and Academy Award-winner Christoph Waltz also star. Opens Janiary 14th, 2011. (Source)

Seth to Appear on “Mythbusters”
Written by on December 14th, 2010

Tomorrow night (December 15th), Seth Rogen is going to make a special appearance on one of Discovery Channel’s most popular series as the “Mythbusters” investigate the world of The Green Hornet. Full details are as follows:

The MYTHBUSTERS are getting into action hero mode again – this time with Seth Rogen, star and co-writer of the upcoming 3D action comedy The Green Hornet. On Wednesday, December 15 at 9PM ET/PT, the Green Hornet Special episode will feature Rogen and the MYTHBUSTERS team taking on two exciting scenes from the upcoming January motion picture release. The film will be released in theaters nationwide on January 14, 2011.

Long a MYTHBUSTERS fan, Rogen wanted to find out what would happen when some of these Hollywood scenes are played out in real life. “I’m a big fan of MYTHBUSTERS,” said Rogen. “We were making a big action movie and it just seemed like the only time we could do something like this. I watch the show all the time and it just seemed cool to see if the stuff in our movie was possible in any way, shape or form.”

The MYTHBUSTERS team, with Seth as their assistant, tackles two pivotal scenes from the film. First up is “Explosive Escape,” where The Green Hornet and his tech-savvy sidekick Kato are buried alive in the Green Hornet’s iconic car Black Beauty and blast their way out using the car’s built-in rockets. Adam, Jamie and Seth re-create this explosive silver screen scene… with a little TNT party.

Then, in “Elevator Car Cut,” Seth requests that Kari, Grant and Tory take on another action sequence from the movie, where The Green Hornet and Kato again find themselves in a jam. After being shot up by bad guys they crash into an elevator. As the elevator ascends, it slices the car in half, leaving them to escape in the front half of the car. To test this scene, the team build their own elevator from 3 ½ tons of steel, chop a car in half and take half a car to the racetrack. Will any of these results be Hollywood ready?

Jason Segel: “We Have Apatow’s Defiance to Thank”
Written by on December 13th, 2010

Jason Segel insists he, Seth Rogen and James Franco have filmmaker Judd Apatow’s defiant attitude to thank for their fame – because he was determined to turn them into stars after TV show Freaks And Geeks was cancelled.

Apatow was upset when the cult show was axed and threatened to show TV bosses just what talent they had let slip through their fingers – by turning the members of his cast into big stars.

Segel explains, “I met Judd at the right time and got really lucky. I can boil it down to that! When Freaks and Geeks got cancelled Judd got pissed and was like, ‘These guys are good and I’ll tell you what; I’m gonna show you guys how dumb you are by making each one of these guys stars.’

“He had no reason besides that. It’s not like Seth and I are screaming to be leading men. Franco obviously was gonna be fine, but Seth and I, it wouldn’t have been an easy road for us, or Jonah (Hill). But Judd decided to prove to the studios that they were wrong. It was just Judd having a Count of Monte Cristo style reaction to being cancelled.”

Seth to Star in “Fight For Your Right Revisited” Short Film?
Written by on December 8th, 2010

They fought for their right to party in hilarious movies like “Stepbrothers,” “Pineapple Express,” “School of Rock” and “Pedicab Confessions” (hey, it counts!). And now Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, Seth Rogen, Danny McBride, Jack Blackand Elijah Wood are teaming up to star in “Fight For Your Right Revisited,” a short film written and directed by Beastie Boy Adam “MCA” Yauch. The flick will premiere at Sundance in the spring. And we thought Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis were a comedy dream team!

A recently released still of the film shows Wood as Adam “A-Rock” Horovitz, Rogen as Mike “Mike D” Diamond and McBride as Yauch. No word yet on who Ferrell, Reilly and Black will be playing, but if this video is just a remake of the Beastie’s original 1986 video for “(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (to Party),” then my vote’s on Black as Ric Menello.

But 24 Bitsis calling this a “lulz-packed sequel,” which could follow the boys after they leave the party, thus making the video even more awesome. I think pretty much everyone who’s ever seen the classic Beastie Boys video would love to see these awesome actors coming up with something to top the epic pie fight.

Seth’s Topless Engagement Proposal
Written by on November 9th, 2010

Funny People star Seth Rogen reveals that he popped the question to girlfriend Laura Miller while she was topless. Despite having ideas of a more ostentatious proposition when he met her in the bedroom hanging clothes in the closet, he had to think on his feet while she stood there in just her underwear.

The 28-year-old actor revealed yesterday on Conan O’Brien’s new TBS talk show:

“She was in our closet, changing, and she was literally only in her underpants.” He added, “I had already kind of started [to propose]. … I didn’t picture it like this, and I know she didn’t picture it like this… I figured the only appropriate thing was to place the ring on her nipple.”

Rogen also commented that he was involving himself in the planning of wedding. He continued to O’Brien, “I find myself having opinions about what our center pieces should look like and I’m like, ‘What am I doing? I don’t care about any of this stuff at all.’”

Seth to Appear on “Conan” Kick Off Week
Written by on October 21st, 2010

Conan O’Brien is welcoming a roster of big names his first week back on the air.

His late-night run on TBS hosting “Conan” will kick off with Seth Rogen and musician Jack White on Monday, Nov. 8, the network has announced. Tuesday’s show will include guests Tom Hanks, “30 Rock” regular Jack McBrayer and Soundgarden. “Mad Men” star Jon Hamm stops by on Wednesday, and Thursday, Conan will greet Michael Cera and Julie Bowen.

For nearly 20 years, O’Brien was a fixture at NBC, but he left last January after just a few months as host of “The Tonight Show.” His new Los Angeles-based show will air Mondays through Thursdays at 11 p.m. Eastern. His very first guest might be decided by an online poll, which offers unlikely choices like Pope Benedict XVI. (Source)

“Pineapple Express” Sequel Could Go in Different Direction
Written by on October 13th, 2010

Someone make a dinner reservation for James Franco, Seth Rogen, David Gordon Green and the rest of the folks involved in “Pineapple Express,” OK? That’s the first stumbling block preventing a sequel to their 2008 comedy, and not until everyone breaks bread together will there be any hope of “Pineapple Express 2″ kicking into action.

“We talk about it all the time,” Green, who directed the film, told MTV News while promoting “Your Highness” at New York Comic Con. “We keep talking to the studio. They’re going to organize a dinner someday. This dinner has been talked about for about two years now, where we’re going to get together and throw all the millions of ideas we have into a pot and see if there’s any reason to make that movie.”

While hanging out in our skybox at NYCC, Green revealed a few story ideas that, in our humble opinion, most definitely seem a worthy extension of the story of two stoners – Franco and Rogen – pulled into the violent world of high-stakes marijuana dealing.

“The most interesting spin is to go in the ‘Scarface’ direction,” Green told us. “I want to see them in the Miami coke scene. It could get a little gruesome.”

“Or take it in the ‘Clear and Present Danger’ direction and go to South America,” he added.

Green’s not the only one interested in a sequel. Franco told us earlier in the year about his enthusiasm for another “Pineapple,” and Evan Goldberg, who co-wrote the original script, is excited as well. And Rogen told us, “Of all the movies we’ve done, that’s the only one that I would actually like to do a sequel to and we talk about it.”

For now, though, Sony Pictures has got to get all these guys around a dinner table. “There are a few avenues that are maybe worthy of a little bit more than a barroom napkin scribble of an idea,” Green said.
