Jason Segel, star of last year’s “Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” has already made it known that he intends to work with Kermit, Fozzie, Miss Piggy and all the other Muppets. The question now, however, is whether Paul Rudd, Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen and all Segel’s flesh-and-blood funnymen will come along for the ride as well.Last March, actor/writer Segel announced that he‘d be trying his comedic hand at a new “Muppets” movie

We guess that even just the word “porno” is enough to offend some folks, because Wal-Mart told Kevin Smith that if he wants to sell the DVD release of Zack and Miri Make a Porno at their stores, the word “porno” must be removed from the cover. So, there’s no “porno” at Wal-Mart, but there are guns.Kevin Smith, who’s faced a string of obstacles with his naughty-named flick, said, “I’m just so shocked that the word ‘porno’ meant that much to people in terms of, like, they found it insanely offensive and don’t want to see it on display.”Smith complied, however, not without some concern for folks who might be misled by the new innocuous title.Kevin admits that the film does “include nudity, vulgar content, and colourful language,” but has insisted that almost all of it is for the laughs, not the sexy times.

Despite the comments from Seth Rogen stating the film was still on, there are grumblings of different talk swirling around. It sounds like it may be the beginning of a death-knell for “The Green Hornet.” Over at Hitfix, Drew McWeeny has word that Sony may be backing out the project completely.Rumors of a “Green Hornet” movie have been around for years and years, ever since Kevin Smith was attached to the project as a writer and director. When Smith left the film, it seemed dead in the water, but then the rather unexpected casting news broke that placed Seth Rogen in the lead as the masked hero.Despite some significant grumbling from fans about the films’ direction, the news seemed to get better and better as Rogen rallied to have Stephen Chow play Hornet sidekick Kato (made famous in the ’60s tv series by Bruce Lee). Last September, it was announced that not only would Chow star in “The Green Hornet,” but that he would direct as well.Briefly, the film seemed to be gaining momentum and winning over the internet contingent, but just last month Chow revealed that he was first out of the “Green Hornet” directors chair and, just a few days later, that Chow might be out of “Green Hornet” altogether. Now, rumors are surfacing that “Hornet” is not set to shoot in 2009 as originally planned, and murmurings from the studio are that the project is a lost cause. No matter how you feel about Rogen in the lead, this one counts as a loss for fans everywhere as, just like Drew explains in his piece, this “Hornet” movie not happening would probably mean a “Hornet” movie never happening. I’m hoping for the off-chance that this seeming disinterest on Sony’s part is just a way of stalling and/or negotiating for the return of Chow’s involvement.

Seth Rogen says that his film version of The Green Hornet has not been sprayed with Raid. The movie, which has been the subject of swirling rumors lately indicating it will not happen, is still on, according to the comic actor, who is producing, co-writing and potentially starring in the film.”The Green Hornet has many people working for it, including production designers, costume designers and many conceptual artists, office staff, etc.,” Rogen said in an e-mail to Hitfix. “[The studio heads] have every intention on making it, and assuming we’re able to hire a new director in the upcoming weeks, which seems like a distinct possibility, it should still hit the release date.”Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Times is reporting that Adam Sandler may play a “certain surprise superhero” in the movie about a masked crime-fighter.The Green Hornet is (still) slated for release in June 2010.

Alexandre Aja is slowly, cautiously orbiting a big screen version of The Gospel According to Jimmy. Please don’t be confusing this with any offcuts or offal from the Belushi family – instead, it originated as a satirical novel by Didier van Cauwelaert. Here is Aja’s own explanation of the book’s plot:“You have to imagine, a few years from now, the Republicans want to get back in the White House, and the only thing that they find is like an old cloning project … to clone Jesus from a blood cell on the Shroud of Turin. And one subject had survived, and he’s fixing pools in L.A., named Jimmy. And they’re going to find him and ask him to come back and help them to get back to power.”Aja says that he considers Seth Rogen the perfect casting for his cloned Christ. Interesting.

Okay,I am curious about what to do. Seth has appeared in two films where he is animated (Kung Fu Panda and The Spiderwick Chronicles and another on the way (Monsters Vs. Aliens). My question is, would people like to see those screen caps in the gallery – or would it be a waste of time?So what does everyone think, should I add animated film screen captures to the gallery? Cast your vote. POLL IS NOW CLOSED.
