Seth Rogen is going to be guest starring on the third season premiere of the FX comedy, The League. The actor will play Dirty Randy and just might appear in another episode later in the season. This finally puts a face to the heretofore unseen scumbag friend of Jason Mantzoukas’s Rafi.

Creator Jeff Schaffer explained, “As the legend of Dirty Randy grew among our fans — is that Dirty Randy? Is that a shot of Dirty Randy? — we realized we really have to step up here. We started talking about who the funniest people we know who aren’t on the show already, and [Rogen] was at the top of the list.”

Seth will be a presenter at this years MTV Video Music Awards alongside, Jonah Hill, Rick Ross, Selena Gomez, Kim Kardashian among others. The 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards will air live Sunday, August 28, from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles at 9 p.m. ET/PT, following the Selena Gomez-hosted pre-show at 8.

Summit Entertainment has released a new restricted clip from the upcoming drama/comedy that follows the story of best friends whose lives are changed by a cancer diagnosis. 50/50 hits theaters September 30, 2011.

Below is a conversation between Will Reiser (writer of 50/50), Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, talking about both Reiser’s true-life cancer experience, as well as Gordon-Levitt’s new project. Tragedy / Comedy
Six years ago, Will got cancer in his back. Obviously, that sucked. But he and his best friend, Seth, coped with the tragic situation by finding the humor in it. After he got better, Will decided to write a comedy inspired by what happened, called 50/50. Seth produced the movie and I played the character inspired by Will.

I know that even in the darkest times of my life, there have been those unexpected moments, circumstances and stories that just make me laugh my ass off. I want to start a collaboration for those kinds of stories.

Contribute your tragic/comic story here. Tell us about something terribly unfortunate in your life, but do it with a sense of humor. You could write your story in text, you could RECord yourself telling the story into your camera or microphone, draw a picture, write a song, whatever’s comfortable.

Then I’ll direct our creative collective of RECorders to adapt some of those stories into short films. You know how we do it. Maybe they’ll end up animations. Maybe they’ll become scripts for actors to peform. Maybe they’ll become musical numbers. We’ll see.

A new trailer for the upcoming ‘cancer comedy’ titled, 50/50 has made it’s way online! This second trailer features much of the same footage as before with some new stuff sprinkled in. Take a look below:

Seth is confirmed to appear on the 42nd season of the popular children’s show, Sesame Street.

Hard to believe, but some of the early viewers of “Sesame Street” are now probably watching the show with their grandchildren. The classic TV series beloved by preschoolers and their caregivers will launch season 42 on PBS Kids September 26th.

In an effort to encourage school readiness, especially in the disciplines of science and math, areas where U.S. students are falling behind, the producers say the new season focuses on a STEM curriculum, an acronym for science, technology, engineering and math. Other season highlights include original songs and street stories; a brand new segment “Murray’s Science Experiments;” new “Super Grover 2.0” stories and new “Abby’s Flying Fairy School” animations.

Also in season 42 are many humorous celebrity moments featuring Elmo, Oscar, Abby and their friends making keen observations and showing their interest in hands-on investigation…all of which reinforce and encourage preschoolers to say: “Let’s find out!”

“Sesame Street’s curriculum fosters children’s natural inclinations to ask questions and encourages investigation and experimentation in order to make new discoveries,” said Dr. Rosemarie Truglio, Vice President of Education and Research, Sesame Workshop.

The Toronto International Film Festival, which has become an increasingly important platform for awards-seeking titles in recent years announced its 2011 line-up this morning.

50/50 (World Premiere)

Inspired by personal experiences, 50/50 is a funny, touching and original story of friendship, love, and survival starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogen, Anna Kendrick, Bryce Dallas Howard and Anjelica Huston. Written by Will Riser and directed by Jonathan Levine.

Take this Waltz (World Premiere)
Director: Sarah Polley

Swelteringly hot, bright and colourful like a bowl of fruit, Take this Waltz leads us laughing through the familiar, but uncharted question of what long-term relationships do to love, sex, and our images of ourselves. Starring Michelle Williams, Seth Rogen and Luke Kirby.

The 11-day festival is set to kick off on Sept. 8, 2011.

According to the user-updated website Internet Movie Database, Seth is attached to star in the new film titled, For a Good Time, Call… which is set for a 2012 release. According to the website, the film was written by Seth’s fiance, Lauren Miller and will be directed by Jamie Travis.

The plot is brief, “the story of two women who start a phone sex line” and is rumored to also star Ari Graynor (“Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist”) and Lauren Miller.
